Derby Name: Kimical Spill
What does your derby name mean to you: My day time name is Kimmy. I decided to join roller derby and I never skated in my life.  I broke my ankle after taking a pretty big spill.  So I am Kimical Spill.
Favorite Position: Penalty Tracker and Score Keeper
How you found out about roller derby:  I was living in Nashville and went to a game.  I had always heard of roller derby but never really thought I could do it.  I went to a game and they made the statement “we will teach you to skate” that was all I needed.  I went out an soon realized I wasn’t the best on my feet but wanted to be involved. The women of roller derby are amazing.  So when I heard I could be a Non-Skating Official (NSO) I jumped on board and have been there ever since.

Favorite derby moment during a bout: I would have to say it was watching Nuke play in Memphis and she was basically skating on the front 2 wheels as they tried to knock her out of bounds.  She got around the skaters and kept going with out cutting track.
Favorite derby moment during an after party:  I think it’s awesome watching DDD sing karaoke.
Favorite after party drink:  Yuengling
Favorite bout you played in: Naughty VS Nice Dec 2010 watching NJCR take on MCM. Such a good fast game.  It was so awesome to watch my first bout in JAX.
What are your favorite skates: I love my Grand Prix skates.  I just don’t use them as much as I would like.
What are your favorite wheels: I am wheel stupid.
Do you have a derby wife: I’m derby single!  I need a good wife.
What should your fans know about you: I am one CraZy Red head!

How you found out about roller derby:  Drinkin with derby girls…
Date you started with the Jacksonville Roller Girls: Sometime in 2006 I think
Favorite derby moment during a bout:  Anytime MaXXX Powers throws “The Diamond”
Favorite derby moment during an after party:  When Tooltime EARNED his previous name…I’ve never seen anyone lifted off the ground by that!
Favorite after party drink:  Guiness!!!!
Favorite bout you played in:  They all rocked
What are your favorite skates: Ones with wheels on the bottom!!
What are your favorite wheels:  Atom G/D rod combo
Do you have a derby wife: Nope…  Derby Single!!
What should your opponent know about you before a bout:  That I’m not actually PLAYING, so don’t hit me please.
What should your fans know about you:  I’M NOT BLIND!!! I’m an awesome ref!

What does your derby name mean to you:  I work in Mental Health…. It just made sense
Favorite Position: Blocker
How you found out about roller derby:  I found out about Roller derby years ago, but became familiar with JRG when a friend on the Tally team came to town and I attended my very first Bout=) I decided to join after meeting Kimmical Spill, who had me come out to the Naughty vs. Nice bout in 2010, I decided to attend a Thursday night practice and have been with the league since=)

Favorite after party drink: I like beer
Favorite bout you played in: hmmm, would have to be against Classic City Rollergirls.  It was my first away bout=)
What are your favorite skates: right now I am fond of the Riedell 965 but I do love my Vanilla’s
What are your favorite wheels: I like my Backspins
Do you have a derby wife:  Nope, but I do have a few derby crushes=)
What should your opponent know about you before a bout:  I do what the voices in my head tell me to do….
What should your fans know about you: My dog weighs more than me!!

How you found out about roller derby: The lovely Bambi Bomber worked with my sister and recruited both of us.
Date you started with the Jacksonville Roller Girls: July 10, 2010
Favorite derby moment during a bout: Creaming Knoxville and hearing the 2500 screaming fans at the UNF Arena on April 16th!
Favorite derby moment during an after party: Easy…watching Nuke sing AND dance to N*Sync at Monkey’s Uncle.
Favorite after party drink: Newcastle on draught
Favorite bout you played in: Knoxville double-header at UNF Arena on April 16th. We won both bouts in our WFTDA debut!
What are your favorite skates: Riedell 965
What are your favorite wheels: Quickie Stickies and Poisons, 4 and 4
Do you have a derby wife: Nope, but I do have a super crush on Thunda Pressure.
What should your opponent know about you before a bout: Nothing. Keep the element of surprise.
What should your fans know about you: I don’t know how many years on this Earth I got left. I’m gonna get real weird with it.

What does your derby name mean to you: I am a walking wreck sometimes! Darlin was just a pet name from my honey.
Favorite Position: Blocker
How did you found out about roller derby: I have a friend that plays/coaches in Palm Coast and she took me to a bout here in town in summer of 2010.
Date you started with Jacksonville Rollergirls: Jan 2011
Favorite Derby moment during a bout: no bout yet, but that will be fixed REAL soon :)
Favorite derby moment during an after party: dancing with Flux, she is awesome!
Favorite after party drink: Carbomb, baby!
Favorite bout you played in: I think my first will be my fav for awhile.
What are your favorite skates: I have my eye on a pair of Minx, for now I will just use my beginners.
What are your favorite wheels: Quickie Stickie
Do you have a derby wife: 2 actually ;) One here in town that I skate with and my bestie in Palm Coast that got me hooked!
What should your opponent know about you before a bout: I am very competitive.

How you found out about roller derby: I was at the rink with my family. Saw some derby girls practicing and it was love at first sight.
Date you started with the Jacksonville Roller Girls: Feb 2011
Favorite derby moment during a bout: It was at the UNF bout when New Jax took the win over Knoxville. It was spectacular.
Favorite derby moment during an after party: Watching Killer Lay taking a ton of stuff out of her boobs like it was a purse. Freaking amazing the amount of stuff she can fit in there. I was impressed.
Favorite after party drink: Malibu and Pineapple
Favorite bout you played in: I will have to let you know later on that one.
What are your favorite skates: I am currently in some Riedell 126′s but I am looking to upgrade to some 965′s
What are your favorite wheels: I am pretty happy with my Quickie Stickies
Do you have a derby wife: Yes I do….She is awesome! I heart you Tackle BoXXX
What should your opponent know about you before a bout: Nada.The less they know…The better.

Downtown Jacksonville Monthly Art Walk

Downtown Jacksonville’s Art Walk takes place the first Wednesday of every month from 5:00pm-9:00pm.  Meet the girls as they come in at the Bee Gallery inside the Jacksonville Landing, but also catch them as they skate around downtown in full attire handing out flyers.

What does your derby name mean to you: It’s deceptively complex, it’s NOT just three letters.  It represents my playful side, but lets you know there’s more there, too.
Favorite Position:  I love blocking, specifically power-blocking.  But I also enjoy the responsibility that comes with being a pivot.  
How you found out about roller derby: I went to the first game of the 2010 season and I instantly fell in love. I thought since I could skate that it would be easy.  Although it’s been MUCH more difficult than I thought when I was sitting in the audience, it’s been a crazy, wonderful adventure!

Favorite derby moment during a bout:  Hearing New Jax players screaming and cheering from the sidelines while the home team was beatin’ up Tally
Favorite derby moment during an after party:  Any afterparty at Monkey’s is always great, but I liked the afterparty in Knoxville last season, too.  I think there were more of us there than them.
Favorite after party drink:  Stella Artois, or whatever shot someone is buying after a win.
Favorite bout you played in:  The UNF bouts are a blast, but I really like away bouts too; so I think Tally or Knoxville from last season
What are your favorite skates: Riedell 965s
What are your favorite wheels: I’m using Reckless 93s now and I like them a lot
Do you have a derby wife: I’m a derby widow, but I’ll always love my Sades of Spades <3
What should your opponent know about you before a bout:  I perform best under pressure and I’m just waiting for that perfect moment to turn around and block you backwards
What should your fans know about you: You’ll find it hard not to scream my name  ;-)
