What does your derby name mean to you: It is based off of one of my favorite movies, “Boondock Saints”. Any one who is cool enough will know that. “Veritas – Aequitas.”
Favorite Position: Jammer
How you found out about roller derby: I remember seeing it on TV and had known about it for a few years. I moved to Jacksonville in 2007 and found myself talking about it quite a bit. My sister was visiting here during a Christmas break from college. She befriended a few people at Coffee Roasters, a cool local coffee shop. Long story short, she met a Jacksonville Rollergirl and gave her my number. A few days later, I received a voicemail saying this: “Hey Cat, this is Tackleboxxx and Sassy J…and we know where you live so I hope your there tomorrow for practice. You don’t have to bring your skates …or your gear. Let’s at least see your face…and we gotta get your blood type for future transfusions and all that kinda stuff…” The next morning I made one of the best decisions ever and went to practice. Favorite derby moment during a bout: Anytime I have learned something and watching our A Team, New Jax City Rollers, beat Tallahassee!
Favorite derby moment during an after party: Mmmm…PG version…anytime that has involved dancing, drinking, swimming, drinking, poles, drinking, mechanical bulls, drinking, lots of derby girls drinking and some MJ, always puts a smile on my face.
Favorite after party drink: Drink would be Captain and Diet. As for shots I like to switch it up between Patron, Vegas Bomb, Cherry Bomb or a good ol’ Wet Pussy.
Favorite bout you played in: South Carolina–Richland County Regulators.
What are your favorite skates: Not entirely sure yet…still seeing what works best for me.
What are your favorite wheels: Currently, I like my Jukes.
