Derby Name: Crash Register
Derby Number: 130
What does your derby name mean to you: Register is my last name for the time being and I just made a pull off of it. Ya know…Cash/Crash Register?
Favorite Position: I’ve learned to make the whole game my favorite. I think it’s important to play all positions at one point and make an attempt to play them well. You never know what can happen in a game when skaters are downed/out. But it’s also important to play into your talents. I like to do it all….. but everybody knows I’m built for speed.
How you found out about roller derby: Heard about it through some friends
that just started practicing during JRG’s first few months. I’ve been around sports my whole life so I thought I’d give it a try.
Date you started with the Jacksonville Roller Girls: July 2006
Favorite derby moment during a bout: Halftime, it’s when you get to sit down with your team and choose which route to take for the next 30 min. You’ve already felt the other team out, you’re all pumped up and you’ve got an idea where you stand. everyone decides together where they want to go and how they’re going to get there next period.
Favorite derby moment during an after party: The part where you get to drink.
Favorite after party drink: Flavored vodka/soda water
Favorite bout you played in: See this has changed over the years….The Tallahassee wins will always be big for us as a team. I really think that the Clover Cup Tournament 2012, especially vs Tampa (even though we lost by 3 points) was a huge game for me/New Jax. We kicked down the door and let the derby world know we are here. Just in case they were wondering. We may not have taken 1st place but the road to this point has been long and tiresome, but very rewarding.
What are your favorite skates: I couldn’t tell ya. I buy skates like most normal women buy shoes. I’m a fan of Reidel 911′s as of late.
What are your favorite wheels: Whatever is working at the time. Every floor is different story
Do you have a derby wife: Nino Brown….isnt she beautiful?
What should your opponent know about you before a bout: I know that when playing on a competitive level it is all serious business but if I cannot smile or laugh at least once during a game then the ride is not worth it for me. I don’t get paid to play roller derby, if i did I would stare everyone down and look as constipated as possible. I like
aggressive game play. But who says you can’t smile right before you bust somebody up? Works for crazy people……
What should your fans know about you: This one’s easy. Without you guys
we wouldn’t have become who we are today. For that all of Jacksonville Rollergirls LLC thanks you.
